Somewhat overlooked: Measles is the antithesis of “natural immunity” lauded by antivaxers. Measles wrecks the immune system through immune amnesia increasing vulnerability to all other pathogens. Remembered antibodies are essentially over written and the effects can last months or even years.

All the chaos unfolding and here I am making plans to move house and sign a long term agreement! I mean, I kinda have to right now but I also wonder if I will end up getting the hell out of here and back to my home country, family and dogs in tow.

Absolutely outrageous behavior from the agent managing the house we are leasing. If it wasn’t for my friend and neighbor who is not only a landlord herself but on the board of the HOA, we’d panic! A long team call later it is clear she is lying and not in communication with our actual landlord!

As a British immigrant in the US, I shared this with my fellow dads lamenting the fact that this type of discourse doesn’t seem to happen here! No shining of the light on the utter deceit these people practice to meet their own ends.
The purpose is of course to spread the misinformation, no matter how many times it’s debunked.
More people will hear & take in his initial fear-mongering than will see the corrections. This is how they operate & it is entirely deliberate.

Currently in the middle of Awakenings, 1990. The last time I saw this, I reckon I was 14 or 15…. Maybe a little younger. I’ve always recall loving the movie but 30 (ish) years later, it is hitting so differently. Not sure my teen brain could truly appreciate it!

Do not take random trails off the mountain - you may just end up doing some very unwanted and exhausted cross country skiing!! But then, we probably wouldn’t have found the lost and stranded 7 year old who also thought it was a good idea to take a random trail…… Hope he got back OK.

Was kinda miffed when I saw the shit show at Canyon’s this morning. Huge queues, long waits and barely any runs open. And then I heard that this was due to Ski Patrol striking and I was like, Fuck yeah!!!

First days of real powder in my ski town & the Park City ski patrol has finally gone on strike. I wish them all the best with their excellent timing. Give them their $24/hour for godssake, they save lives every day. ✊

One of the big things my kiddo and I do together is ski! We love it and it helps bond and just hang out. The wife, however, hates it and will gladly do yoga, gym, book reading and generally just chilling whilst we get caught in blizzards and lark around!

Got to watch game in Brits Pub in Minneapolis today with my neighbor who is a Spurs supporter. Genuinely glad they managed to get a consolation couple of goals because I felt bad celebrating the ‘Pool so freely!!

The resurgence of the anti-vax movement, bolstered by the new breed of crazies at the top, reminds me of a time when I was added to a global list of anti-vax enemies on Facebook because I was very vocal against their misinformation and debated them in their own spaces.

I’m so confused! I came across BabyMetal in my Discovery play list and I was instantly drawn to it, having never heard it before. And now my kiddo keeps sending Reels to me and I am liking it even more. My Slayer/Metallica/Black Sabbath loving teenage self is mocking me. But I don’t care….

Just got home after scoring the game winning sudden death penalty shootout goal in the final playoff beer league game! Whilst this is by no means the pinnacle of my hockey career, was still kinda enjoyable! And as a zero finesse, nearly 50 year old, I reckon I done good!

I see so many charities asking for donations this time of year and it boggles my mind that they even exist. There is more than enough resources and money in this world laying dormant in the pockets of the super wealthy to make charities obsolete and unnecessary.
