but who knows, maybe all these concerns will be addressed in future posts and directs and updates. ultimately though i am excited. i cant wait for the new mario kart and the inevitable new zelda and mario installations, and i really hope they make everything as exciting and fun as its always been

its also weird in timing, the switch still feels like it’s very much in its prime. with ports as well as brand new games still being announced and released, to me it just doesn’t feel like its time to move on yet. but i know console generations usually lasts about 6 years and we’re past that already

i know it’s and oddly small thing the gripe about, the color of the console, but my splatoon 3 oled is my prized possession, it visually compliments my home because it fun and bright and colorful and unique. but i’m just supposed to replace it with a gray block? mmmm no ma’am

like i really liked how the original switch was launched with a colorful and a colorless version so people could choose what that liked, which is why i find it kinda weird to see that choice removed, especially when this console will be in direct comparison with the og switch a lot

it just feels weird to be told it’s already time to replace or upgrade my switch again when i literally just upgraded to the oled a couple years ago. especially when color and customization is a such a feature of the switch that isn’t there for the switch 2

i also just worry because the last time nintendo made a console that was advertised as an update/sequel to it’s predecessor, it just didn’t do very well. and while i do truly love my wii u, it just didn’t get the love and longevity and library that its predecessor or successor got

and while that’s really cool and good, i’ve just always really loved how nintendo consoles introduce a new gimmick or feature that bring new possibilities to how video games can me enjoyed, and create such unique gameplay experiences that are always iconic.

like i’m excited for a new console and all and i wanna be optimistic, but this just feels like a disappointment kinda. nintendo has always been the innovator between the big three gaming systems, with xbox and ps focusing more on just upgrading specs with each new generation of consoles
