This is our best hope to stop the Fascism train: they eat themselves alive *before * they finish eating the rest of us.

As usual, don't believe most of these folks are speaking in good faith. They absolutely are not. They've embraced the core idea of Trumpism: words are simply a tool to power. Ideas like Truth, Integrity and other abstractions are relevant only when they can be used to that end.

Even if it's murder, due process is an absolutely fundamental aspect of a constitutional democracy. The whole point of the presumption of innocence is so the government can't do shit like this. It's otrageous. Ots hideous. It's unamerican as fuck. These fuckers need to face consequences.

Yup. That's why those of us that are white really have to meet the moment. If ever the was a time to show you acknowledge the reality of white privilege and actually do something useful with it, now is that time.

There were still a good number of us angry men in there, but yeah. They definitely did trend that way. Maybe that's what gets younger, more diverse kids with more to lose to feel it's safe enough to join in. Maybe for some of them they can experience the joy of protest for the first time.

I certainly hope we as a country get our shit together and finally hold these avatars of cruelty accountable. It's absolutely sickening to watch and shameful as an American. We *must* do better. We all have a *duty* to do better.

Finally our dream of doing underpaid, repetitious, soul-crushing work to enrich billionaires closer to home can be realized!

Seriously. I've been completely shocked to see so many people I had formerly respected show themselves to be cowards. You don't fight fascism by rolling over and showing your belly. You fight it with fearlessness and unity. People that think this way are how fascism succeeds. Be willing to sacrifice

It's true, but at the same time we need to welcome people with buyer's remorse into the fold. Deafeating fascism takes priority over schadenfreude. We shouldn't confuse how things ought to be with how they actually are. Sometimes you need to be gracious even to those that aren't deserving.

And together we can beat it. Fascists count on people being divided and afraid. It's time for us to unify and show our bravery!
