This is purely self indulgent idccccccc IDCCCC GEM AND TALLULAH MY LOVELIESSS
As she gets closer, she tries to decipher who the woman could be. Freckles are speckled across her nose and cheeks, and ginger locks are tied into two braids. The woman is wearing a green long sleeve and denim overalls. For the most part she looks unscathed, even with the sword dropped by her side. There didn’t seem to be any wounds for the cause of her death or suspicious activity around the body. It was as if one moment the woman had been standing there and the next dropped dead. Tallulah didn’t recognize her. For all its worth someone could’ve dropped this body off from a different part of the city, she should probably alert her dads. By this point, it didn’t hurt investigating further, after all this would be her job in the future right? She got close enough to check for a pulse, and as her hands touched the woman’s neck, she sprung back to life with a gasp. “ARE YOU KIDDING ME!” The ginger huffs. The color returns to her face in a snap and her breathing increases as it tries to regulate itself. Tallulah backs herself up into the shadows as the woman reaches for her sword. “Come out! I know you’re there.” Her face scrunches up in annoyance, sword pointed at the unknown figure. “What do you want?” Apa Missa always told Tallulah to hide and run in the shadows, she would be safest there. But she couldn’t really explain why she decided to step out. The spirit that was once tethered to the body was now back, the little girl could sense it. How was that possible? “You’re- alive?” Tallulah questioned. The ginger’s grip on her sword faltered as she watched the child step into view, “Of course I am. Why wouldn’t I be?” The child swallowed, “Are- are you a ghost?” The woman scoffs, a bit confused, “No I’m not a ghost why would you-” The sword is by her side now, she tilts her head and squints her eyes at Tallulah, “You’re like me aren’t you?” She doesn’t say a word, she can’t. Her powers are a secret, her dads told her never to say anything. But she almost is undone by the small smile of relief that graces the ginger's face. “You can see ghosts too, right? Did you see me?” The woman kneels down in front of her, putting her sword back in its hilt. She stares up at Tallulah, “Can- can you hear them too?” she waits excitedly, and expectantly. Tallulah doesn’t say a word, she swallows down hard.
