Hope you feel better Shy. Aging does suck and it's more important than ever to keep up with hydration. The body isn't as resilient as it was in it's 20s.

Getting bifocals with out the lines has been a godsend. So much easier than having to remove my glasses every time I need to read something.

Give the zombies a hug, they need it. They get no respect.

I so miss Wawa.

You never know they could be ThunderCat fans.

Welcome to the club. Bifocals especially progressives can help a lot so you don't need to constantly take them on and off. It's so fun getting old.

That's about what I was paying in Japan when I was there in July. Granted, the rooms are tiny but at least very affordable.

At least you have a diagnosis. The cortisone shot sucks but will hopefully help. If you do need surgery it can help a lot. My sister got it and basically solved her disc pain.

I joined that one too. Always wanted to go to one of their meetups, howls I think they called them. Looked like a lot of fun.

Rheumatoid arthritis, yuck. Have you tried Mary Jane? I've heard that can help with it a lot. I think it's medically legal in Jersey now.

Hope it passes quickly and doesn't take too much outta you.

I'm so sorry for you. I just lost my River on the 16th to kidney failure. The pain of loosing them is tremendous but the years of joy they give us makes it worth it.

My grandmother once had PT and was refusing to go because they "tortured" her. She was having dementia and didn't understand it but it was probably an accurate description anyway. Thing is it works, she wouldn't have walked again if she didn't have it. So hang in there, it ultimately helps.

We can be pain buddies, I'm also on muscle relaxers for a pinched nerve, sends massive pain spikes up my neck, makes one side of my body partially numb, the other gets pins and needles. Combine with the vertigo attack, and my poor Rivers kidneys failing and it's been a helluva holiday season.

Cortisone shot? Don't envy you if you need that.
December 23, 2024 at 11:48 PM
What are your options? Are they considering surgery? At the very least make them give you the good meds.
December 23, 2024 at 11:12 PM
It will heal. Just give it time. I had to use one for a few months until the vertigo was under control. I keep it around since I could have another attack at any time. No shame in using one, they help keep you mobile.

Gotta learn your limits somehow. Still learning my new ones too. Definitely overdid it cooking on thanksgiving and was rewarded with a vertigo attack. Fun times. At least I don't have to worry about the calories from thanksgiving dinner. The trashcan got those when everything came up.

We just have to treasure what we have had and never forget. Pets, people, times have all added to our experience, so long as we don't forget, we'll always have them, even when they're gone.

We can get old and gripe about aches and pains together. Yeah we'll loose friends, especially those older than we are, but we'll make more. Those younger than us will have the same issues when we go. For now let's enjoy all that we can.
