Heroes of Famous New York 369th (Old 15th) Colored Infantry on "Stockholm". They went away singing and come back singing after heaving earned all the honors of war.

by this I do not mean that all our men and women who possess talent for the stage should commence the study of Shakespeare’s works. Already, too many of our people wish to master Shakespeare, which is really a ridiculous notion.

January 18th, 1968: Even today it's difficult to imagine an entertainer, upon an invitation to the White House, having the guts to use the occasion to directly confront the administration.

That is exactly what Eartha Kitt did more than 40 years ago.
