—As someone who mostly plays so called “cozy” and/or “girly” games and does consider myself idk like a woman in some capacity i just hate the term so much genuinely IT DOESNT MEAN ANYTHING!!!!!!!

overall every time i hear the word “cozy game” or ppl call themselves “cozy gamers” i viscerally cringe because what does that MEAN!!!! like it is smthn mostly reserved for games considered “girly” and is used by a lot of women/queer ppl so i dont want to sound like im just being a hater but like—

ive seen ppl call certain zelda games “cozy games” and like kirby amd pikmin also commonly come up and its like brother these are just things that have nice soft aesthetics. this does not count as a genre

And if its a low stakes game that also means nothing bc STAKES ARE ALSO SUBJECTIVE!!! some people are rlly relaxed abt farming sims but i take them VERY SERIOUSLY they are NOT low stakes to me!!!! people use it as a whole identity or genre and it pmo because it as a label means nothing 😭

Bc the truth is “cozy game” is rlly just a dumb term to me because its so subjective. if its just a game thats supposed to make you feel chill and relaxed then that can be anything??? someone might feel relaxed playing fucking doom or some shit bc games are escapism thats just how gaming Is
