I genuinely believe "trans studies" hasn't happened, yet - sure, there is literature purporting to be "trans studies," but so little has relevance to the concrete lives of actual breathing human beings you'd wonder how it even got labeled part of "the humanities."

every day there's a new study by cis academics that apparently discovers "hurting trans people hurts them" as if this was a novel insight and not the obvious, intended result of our continued status as weird gender freaks - and I've never seen such a study change anything or help anyone
