Also, the library where you potentially may avoid getting moved on. And there are Arclight and Changing Lives on Union Tce.

Holy Trinity Church on Goodramgate - it is central, you get the odd tourist popping in, but it is peaceful and out of the way despite being very central. The gardens have some tree planting so you could probably shelter there if you were church-averse.

It was quite a slope - to be fair though, it was a very neatly cut slope! Since then I've got the boyf to cut my hair. He does have the advantage of having oodles of available appointments and not charging me :-)

Oh, hairdressing is so traumatic! Behold the results of the last professional haircut I had (the morning after in PJs, so a bit scruffy) clearly with one side ~2 inches longer than the other!

I couldn't agree more. It's a hangover from the Oxbridge debate system - them vs. us - and it does not serve well in real life. Politicians working together, acknowledging good ideas from other politicians, giving proper scrutiny - well, it's just a dream isn't it?
