It’s okay to feel relief when you lose nothing but the torment of a person who caused you great pain. It’s okay to not cry when you’re not sad. It’s okay to be fine with the death of a person you aren’t unhappy to lose. It’s okay. Don’t apologize for things that you shouldn’t.

A little hard, crusty booger flew out of my nose and landed on top of the stack of copies we were holding in our hands. Now there we stood, holding the copies together, on top of which laid a nugget of my nose gold. I almost fainted. To this day, I can hear it land. Johnny Cash saw my booger. 7/?

"You make copies here?" Man, I would hand copy anything you gave me with my own blood right now. I opened the door to let them in to the office, which was against every rule. I made the copies. I couldn't even tell you now what I was copying. The first guy was reaching for them, but no, no, no. 4/?

This was decades ago, before we had high tech or slick cell phones. I saw a man walk late that night from one wing of the hotel to the other, then back again, looking all around. Then he came back toward me at the front desk . . . with Johnny Cash smiling all cute as hell right behind him. 3/?
