He's told us why. Earth science/weather tracking of natural disasters leads to regulations on land and real estate developments. The owning class hates not being able to build a hospital in a tsunami zone, or apartment complexes in an endangered owl habitat. He's taking care of his masters.

It didn't seem like the Democrats even pushed their own accomplishments, nor did they campaign on much other than "we're not Trump." Healthcare, housing, minimum wage, didn't really enter the conversation. If the media doesn't amplify those points then D's should've worked overtime, but they didn't.
