I was once denied a lease renewal because the landlord didn't like the state in which my (awful) roommate kept the wood burning stove. He also didn't like the type of wood being burned. (to be fair he gave clear instructions)

I didn't know such a group existed, but I bet that landlord is a member.

The suspicion is very frustrating. Two people of any gender can form a strong connection and it can be a meaningful bond that has real importance without it being something it's not (and doesn't need to be, and never will be a different "class" of relationship.)

As an ace individual I think about this and how certain relationships are elevated by society over others. Why is a romantic and/or sexual relationship seen as the end all be all, as somehow more important or better than platonic relationships instead of just a different kind?
