The kitchen because water, food, booze and weapons. Also, I don’t want them breaking the good plates. And I would bring a printer with me to wage a leaflet campaign to send them scurrying.

(PS - is there supposed to be a right answer to this?)

New sky art from Nova Scotia pilot Dimitri Neonakis, who impressively writes in cursive with an airplane better than many of us do with a pen #bluejays

I see all the people categories say “what’s the best …,” not “who’s the …, including this entry, ironically, for most halifamous that spells Sidney, Elliot and Mccarvell wrong. Similar for categories that should say “WHERE’S the best …” A lot of rogue lower-casing of place names. Weird.

According to organizers, six Cdns (named in photo) were aboard the Cdn boat Conscience when it was illegally intercepted by the IDF and its crew kidnapped. A CBC story quotes Global Affairs Canada as saying it knows of 2 Cdns but is unable to confirm how many Cdns were onboard. 1/2 #Sumudflotilla

At the Old Burying Ground in Halifax, trying unsuccessfully so far to find the grave of Benjamin Kent, the first lawyer in the U.S. to win a case to free a slave (Jenny Slew in 1766). There should be more resources put into this historic gem to help its non-profit foundation keep history “alive.”

When Jane Goodall visited Halifax in 2011, @rickconrad.bsky.social and I had the privilege of moderating her online public chat. She was a hero for her work on behalf of animals and the planet, a trailblazer for women in science and the loveliest of humans. I’m heartbroken that she’s gone.

Maybe 300 people - and still growing - at the Davis Cup protest in Halifax now, where the speeches have just started. Lots of long honks from passing cars.

I made it! Favourite sign so far at Davis Cup protest in Halifax is: The only court Israel belongs at is The Hague.
