Framing around early training in par. 1 seems a bit disingenuous. I don't see this specific claim in refs 11-21. Maybe auditory gain - w or w/o early training - comes with listening in ensemble playing. Would explain gain among older non-musicians after singing simple monophonic songs together.

Maybe you know this neat study where they had participants recreate that exact photograph using 70 pieces of tape.

I added this study to my intro psych slides this semester along with some headlines about the study that varied in accuracy. Useful for lots of intro psych concepts and students were engaged.
