The whole point of the Nexus Assessment is that we don't have to choose climate OR biodiversity, water, food and health. They are all part of the same problem, and solutions that tackle all these in an integrated way are the path forward. ipbes.net/nexus 14/14

The good news is we have a lot of options to tackle health, food, water insecurity and biodiversity AS WELL AS climate all together - solutions like agroecology, sustainable diets, urban nature-based solutions, etc. We have a list of 71 different integrated solutions in our report! 13/

Only a few days left to comment on the proposed EPA Endangerment finding (Sept 22)! YOU TOO can do it - I submitted comment that DOE report EPA is relying on is flawed, particularly re: ecosystem impacts that cascade into human health & welfare. Pls add yours! www.regulations.gov/commenton/EP...

Useful graphic from webcast on the multiple pathways by which GHGs, both directly and indirectly, impact human health and welfare
September 17, 2025 at 5:13 PM
This is Daily Caller article criticizing the Natl Academy of Sciences for doing a fast track study of GHGs. But of course this criticism will not be directed at the shoddy DOE report written by 5 non-federal people in a couple months w/ no peer review & used for removing EPA endangerment finding 🙄

🚨Call for abstracts for AGU!🚨 Please submit to our session *SY045. The Importance of #Climate and Environmental Assessments for Decision-Making in Challenging Times* to discuss future directions for scientific assessments, esp given federal cancellation of NNA & #NCA6! What can we do next and how? 🧪

Some fireworks to end the day here in Vietnam 🇻🇳
April 30, 2025 at 4:54 PM
Here we go finally - some military units coming by and a couple fighter jets overhead for the 50th anniversary of the end of Vietnam War and reunification of Vietnam 🇻🇳
April 30, 2025 at 1:40 AM
A lot of patience from the 50th anniversary block party here at Pasteur and Ng Dinh Chieu- some ppl slept overnight to see the parade come by. Even tho we are only a couple blocks from Reunification Palace, all the action seems to be down there. Just now getting some units marching by us #Vietnam
April 30, 2025 at 1:34 AM
It’s midnight here in #Vietnam and folks are already staking out sidewalk space to see the parade that will pass by in morning on April 30th to mark #reunificationday and the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War

I too got a termination letter for my National Endowment for Humanities (NEH) faculty fellowship - just like everyone else awarded in 2025. The justification is presidential EOs, which have nothing to do with my project on the Vietnam War. It also appears to violate the award conditions I signed?

I don't understand how I had to sign this conflict of interest form to serve as a scientific advisory board member to a federal agency, and meanwhile Elon Musk gets to muck around in all the agencies while his companies get MASSIVE federal contracts worth hundreds of millions?

Amazing new strategy under the current administration to reduce the price of eggs - have no eggs available for sale at all! Brilliant! (Photo by me last night in NJ 😡)
