Yes the entertainment/creative industry business comes to mind. We are sooooo good at it but seem to take it for granted.

The world is pragmatic and will bend back to the US after Trump, but in the meantime we need to diversify away from the US. We still can't believe why so many voted for him after the first time so suspicion will remain. Can't say the same about Canada though. They HATE the US now.

It's not just about the govt propping them up though. Next gen coming thru rarely go to the pub, don't drink alcohol etc. Likley to be a reckoning for many pubs.

Good and I think some of the banks (Barclays maybe) run courses...compound interest should be in the curriculum!!! And we shouldn't be afraid to talk about money. It is a key life utility afterall.

Yes and I do think the current govt is trying to add that to the curriculum. But we have got very scared as a nation, to try out things and take risks. Saw heading the other day of 19 year old too scared to invest in stocks and shares bc of perceived risk but there is 'risk' in sticking with cash.

Love the 'not an intellectual among cats' description. I have two standard issue (tabby) cats. I'd say they were both in that category. One likes to chase her tail. Say no more.

Apart from Martin Lewis, who is brillant, noone seems to take a role in educating people about tax and finance and noone seems to take an interest in seeking out info and advice. SIPPs, ISAs should be fully utilised and I'm in agreement with limiting CASH based ISA payments too.

Apparently he also considers himself a centrist and reflects our values and views... in a bubble?

Watched this with in-laws at close range but thankfully 4 siblings pulling together to ease the mental and emotional load of one failing parent. I'm dreading putting pressure on my only child already and he's only 22!! Currently putting our affairs in order to minimise work for him.

There is none apart from saying they prioritise growth but there actions are counter to that. It's so frustrating.
