The wording of this is highly unusual, and suggests that Justice Jackson is expecting the First Circuit to rule on a stay pending appeal (a longer pause of the district court's order) in the next few days.

Does anyone think that this alone will stop what is happening? I don’t think so. It is just one tool to engage people who are still not engaged. It is political theater but the spectacle can have an effect as long as it mobilizes more people to action.
