After appearing on WCCO today, Attorney General Keith Ellison stopped by to thank the "It's Not Fair" volunteers defending our democracy. Thanks for appreciating we are all in this together, each of us doing our part. @indivisibletwincities.org @keithellison.bsky.social

Holding Minnesota Republicans accountable six hours a day, every day at the State Fair. @individibletwincities.org

Another fabulous day at the Minnesota State Fair talking to people in front of the Republican booth about how Republicans are hurting all of us. 11 days, 6 hours a day, holding them accountable. @indivisibletwincities.org

Some signs among thousands of excellet messages at yesterday's No Kings march at the Minnesota State Capitol.

I have started a regular newsletter for my local Minnesota community called "Acting in an Emergency" highlighting actions to take, things to read, organizations to support and ways to take care of oneself while defending democracy. If you are interested in receiving it, please DM me.

500 people at Tesla demonstration in Golden Valley yesterday, one of three in Minnesota - high energy, wonderful signs, multi-generational and incredible response from those driving by. We despise oligarchs #teslatakedown

Recycled gel prints and calendars make great thank you notes for federal workers. They deserve all the recognition and gratitude we can muster. Met with a 20-year veteran of USAID yesterday who is out of a job, 20 years of agricultural and food relief expertise thrown away. Damn them.

This truly despicable man decided the Washington Post will only produce commentary about "free markets" and "personal liberty" today, no need to worry yourself about the demise of democracy or the rise of the insatiable oligarchs. Scum rises to the top. Do not buy from Amazon. ever. again.

There are no more excuses. Stop buying from Amazon today. I assume your subscription to WaPo is already cancelled. And while you're at it, stay out of Target too. Wealthy white men are pathetic, soulless, corrupted scoundrels.

Twelve handmade thank you cards for federal workers in DC, a good craft project and a good way to send support to people who are hurting. My friend is distributing them randomly at Metro stops.

Tesla demonstration today in Golden Valley.

I'll be at the Capitol today. Others will be at Amy and Tina's office. Others will be on a call with Senate staff. Your actions really matter right now. Dems have to start standing up to Trump. No more empty words.

We start this week. I was reluctant to take to the streets earlier because it felt impotent. But we must begin somewhere and this is the first emergency call. Be like the Germans, stand up to the new fascists, the corrupt and the authoritarian. I'll be in Saint Paul 2/5 at noon for democracy.

Into the streets people. Into the streets.

The great part about leaving FB is rediscovering two shelves of poetry that had been gathering dusk. My morning routine will now be to read poems I love or do not know, rather than scrolling.

From the NYT: The lawyer helping Robert F. Kennedy Jr. pick federal health officials for the incoming Trump administration has petitioned the government to revoke its approval of the polio vaccine, which for decades has protected millions of people from a virus that can cause paralysis or death.

Helped to resettle a refugee family two years ago. Tonight we celebrated two little guys' birthdays, ate lamb mantu, danced to traditional Afghan music and laughed. Life is so much better when the table is longer. We need to defend our neighbors.

Three weeks ago I didn't know if I could ever feel hopeful or grateful again. Today I again recognize the deep well of friendship, connections, community, solidarity, resilience and resistance which nurtures and sustains me. My blooming cactus reminds me to be patient and open to whatever comes.

I can't integrate it all yet, but I know I have been given valuable lessons that I/we will need to move forward with our own new reality. I encourage you to take the long view, to listen humbly to one another and to put your faith in love, solidarity and a world where no one is left behind.

I am quite certain that an essential way to navigate a way out of our current situation is to build human connections and community, locally and globally.

Joined Bsky without knowing why. Today I do. I want to use my space to share humor, poetry, art, nature, inspiration, insights and some analysis to sustain us in this moment. I won't be focusing on the clown show in DC
