Trail photos from last fall!
Mushrooms growing out of a green, mossy log. The mushrooms are flat, spreading horizontally, having irregular, scalloped edges. They are dull green in the center, and brown with light tan bands extending to the tan outer edges. There are more logs with mushrooms in the background, perhaps some ash tree saplings or poison-ivy. A hop-hornbeam leaf that is turning brown, with a brown, pendent thing below, that looks like hops. The leaf is green with a serrated edge. Below it, the tree’s fruit, containing seeds in brown papery chambers that are shaped like flat almonds, hollow on the inside. About 10 of these are arranged on a central axis in a spiral shape, overlapping, hanging, with the pointy ends pointing down. The background is green. A photo of a lake, the far end totally lined with trees. The sky is cloudy, with some blue coming through. There is a large pine tree to the left, cattails growing in front, and a log to the right. The surface of the lake is very ripply. A photo of some white aster flowers. In the center of each flower is a round yellow-orange disk, where a careful observer would notice many very small flowers all clumped together. Along the edge of the disks are white petals, the rays of the flower. The background is blurry green foliage.

Some backyard plant photos from the last year
A cluster of white brambleberry flowers in front of green foliage. There are numerous yellow flower reproductive parts spreading from the center of each flower. A black fly has landed on one of the flowers. The bramble leaves have serrated edges, and there are grape leaves growing in the background. A pinkish-purple wild geranium flower. The flower stamens and pollen are yellow, the center of the petals white. The leaves have three lobes in a palmate shape and have big, rounded teeth along the edges. There are light brown leaves covering the ground in the background. Green marsh marigold plants with yellow flowers, with fallen flower petals landing on their broad leaves. There is grass pointing through among the rounded, heart shape marsh marigold leaves. Many small yellow flowers of the aster family, rising high above green foliage over brown leaves on the ground. Each flower has a yellow-orange disk with yellow petals surrounding it like rays. The foliage below is oblong and heart-shaped, but is mixed in with other shapes of foliage, such as virginia creeper, with five leaflets arranged palmately, with many large teeth along the edges.
