It depends 🤔 I use it for strangers, like the bus driver or the students at my work place xd just a way to show friendliness.
To greet friends and aquaintances we refer to them with their name or nickname (for myself it's usually "Palos", "Palomita", "Palomilla", "Palomiux" and the such ^>^)/
