Thank you! There was never really any question. When I rotated as a 3rd year med student I was like, oh yeah, this is the kinda doctor I want to be.

Anyways, if you're interested in becoming a palliative doc and are looking at/are currently in the midst of/have been through an emergency medicine residency, my dms are open.

And, while I'm on my soapbox, I actually think doing a residency in emergency medicine is a GREAT pathway to palliative medicine. Don't let the internists bully you.

It's also a little weird that no one asks internists and family docs, "BUT HOW ARE YOU GOING TO DO BOTH??" I have been asked that for like a decade now. I don't want to do both, I just want to be the best palliator I can be.

Nothing wrong with emergency medicine, it's taken me a couple years, but I just love palliative care and it's what I feel like I was born to do.
