I would never trust OPD work performance numbers, so 877 is likely a bad number. I do see OPD regularly sitting in their cars at the corner of 10th and Webster, but how does that count as an actual patrol? But they probably claim it in their paperwork.

Not just the Chronicle, the news loves fear-mongering new ideas. And, reading enough articles, it becomes clear the Waymo was in the middle of the pack of cars rear ended. We should be happy it was a Waymo, or there would have been another injured person, an Uber driver.
