Another interesting bit — the Dong Khoi street used to be known as “Rue Catinat”. I keep noticing the coffee chain “Katinat” around Vietnam. Maybe it’s named after this street? (Which in turn is named after a French general)

Anyway, here’s a Katinat branch on the former Rue Catinat!

Many of the other buildings in the book have been demolished to make way for the modern shopping district — the Dong Khoi street.
