We recently moved. I have not yet unpacked my games, prototypes, game parts, and books. It fees overwhelming. And I am still not sure which goes in my home office and which goes in the rec room.

I do not get political often here. I try to be positive and support my friends and colleagues in the board game industry.
But this feels too important to not share. If the author of the post in the screenshot is wrong, then I am wrong for spreading it further. But I believe it is right.

After three hours, the rule book for Armory is coming along well. I had kind of forgotten how much changed from v7.6 and v8.3. But, Armory is well developed at this point with countless playtests over four years including during @unpub.bsky.social prime and PAXEast, and @g2summit.bsky.social .

I was pleased to see various forms of container at Unpub. I printed some game concept art and my sell sheet on 8-1/2x11 Avery labels and stuck them on cannibalized game boxes.

Let’s see… I had Armory on the table for roughly six hours, had numerous great tests with small changes for each test. Played a couple more fun games from other designers. I am really tired.
So… what game to play or test next? I got three more hours in me, right?

Another great evening/night at #unpub . Played some great games, including the fascinating Bread from @xoe.gay and Potion Patch from @amanpossessed.bsky.social . I also got two great tests of Community Park this evening. Everyone is enjoying it a lot.

Played a few prototypes today so far at #unpub. It is so great to connect with fellow designers and discuss strengths and weaknesses, praise what works and give constructive criticism and brainstorm what does not. My 3p playtest of the latest iteration of Armory was very productive. I learned a lot.

The box is done. 🎲✂️ Just need to finish the sell sheet before leaving for Unpub, while the rest of the sleeve work will be in the car on the way. Will you be at #unpub ? If so, you can playtest Armory on Saturday between noon and 4 pm at Table C3.

The market board, scoring shield, and player aids are done. I still need to finish some marketing type material, so sleeving cards for Armory will occur en route to @unpub.bsky.social . Plus, I still have to finish reworking one part of Community Park, too, along with its marketing type stuff.

Spending some of my Sunday afternoon preparing the prototype of the redesign of Armory. 🎲✂️ Lots of cutting and sleeving to get ready for its appearance and playtesting of v8.1 rules at @unpub.bsky.social . Casper is running QA.

I am currently applying the printed labels to the handout tiles. I should be ready for people to play Community Park @g2summit.bsky.social by 3 pm. 🎲✂️ It is a little tedious but the payoff is great.

I started playing Wordle in 2021. I miss a day here or there, but it has become part of my morning routine. A routine that has led to 1000 plays of the game as shown. I love word games anyway, but this has been a nice companion to my first cup of coffee each day.

Just wrapped up an afternoon of games with the family, before the young’uns head to friends’ places to celebrate NYE. Maybe my wife and I will still play another game….
