She/her, but plays a male WoL (I need a more... personal image.) I came here for fandom and happiness, but I'm stuck in the US. :(

I write FF14 fanfiction and play indie video games.

This is cool! And very appropriate flavor.

(I used Warrior of Light [customized proxy with FF14 art instead of Amano's FF1 art] as the commander for my Elidibus deck. Works pretty well well if you build Seat of Sacrifice: The Deck, but it's not quite the right mechanics/flavor.

If you want to be friends with NPC Elidibus shippers, despite it being thoroughly AU material at this point I've liked the idea of Elidibus/Urianger since I played through Heavensward (and wish the writers had done a little bit more with that part of the subplot.)

There's a finite number of canon characters. You're going to be shipmates with SOMEONE.

(To be fair, in the Paksarra Headcanon Universe every player character Warrior of Light has at least one personal timeline [with an exception for multi-WoL timelines] so everyone's journey is canon.)

Main flaws are that the UI is very clunky and the AI has some exploitable flaws, but for a fan project that plays a game that complex *reasonably competently* it's pretty impressive.

There's a program out there called Forge. It's free (fanmade) and has some big flaws, but it's a good way to test out a deck against AI opponents (that is a traditional game AI, not a LLM.)

As for her being able to 'see' so many other things, keep in mind that EVERYTHING in this setting is made of aether and Y'shtola can see/sense aether. She's Geordi LaForge blind.
November 22, 2025 at 5:47 AM
Oddly enough, Y'shtola being able to see paint/ink is canonically consistent-- if you have Alchemist, check out the descriptions/ingredients of the ink you use to make stuff like ACN/SMN/SCH books and orch rolls.

Ink and paint aren't dissimilar, so paint is probably aetherically conductive too.

"urianger is Not going on any roller coasters due to being scared of heights"

I'm terrified of heights and get shaky on even a low ladder, but love coasters and other rides like that. I think it's because I'm strapped in and there's no risk of falling, so it feels secure.

I'm aware it likely wasn't the point you intended, but it's important for us to remember that black and white thinking is A Problem and that we don't necessarily know who's on the other side of the screen or behind a username.

Agree with the sentiment, but only if the "you" you're addressing is a grown-ass adult. I've seen adults in fandom spaces calling out teenage fans as 'pedophiles' for shipping their teen OCs with teen characters, which is extremely fucked up. It's normal for an 19 y/o to find a 18 y/o attractive.

Wow, thanks for the suggestion. I've never heard of this band and they're good.

My theory is that it's "what if Elidibus showed up during 5.0" and we get a double Ascian fight.

Cyber Monday's been a thing for quite some time-- online stores hold until Monday.

Hell, anymore Black Friday starts early November and goes until mid-December. There's an entire Black Friday season to boycott.

"And by that we mean up to the state of Texas."

Isn't that just racism? I mean, I'm a pale-skinned Irish-descended cisgender woman and I've never voted for a Republican in a general election; I can't imagine that having been born with a penis would change any of that.
November 9, 2025 at 9:51 PM
If you do that, you're registered as "Republican" until you either vote in another primary or don't vote in a primary for long enough that your party affiliation fades off.
November 9, 2025 at 9:48 PM
That's not reliable.

For example, my state determines your party affiliation by the primary ballot you take. It's not uncommon for rural progressives in districts where Democrats are highly unlikely to win the general election to take the Republican primary ballot and vote for the least bad option.

He always says any vote that doesn't go his way is rigged. He's a crybaby.

And the high prices were partly the tramp's fault. We had pandemic watchers stationed in Wuhan that he fired because he has a fetish for firing hard working Americans. If he hadn't we'd have known about COVID far sooner.

I've heard that if you can find somewhere that sells secondhand commercial office furniture you can get some fantastic deals-- when companies close or downsize they sell off perfectly good high-end chairs. It won't be brand new, but that tier of furniture lasts for ages.

If you want some unsolicited advice: write his dialogue straight first, then translate it.

And it doesn't have to be perfect; no one will care if you have him say "seeketh" when he should have said "seekest".

Oh, wow! So big, but not life-sized. Thank you!

[....which is also why the Ancients made a replacement artificial moon. Which Hydaelyn borrowed.]

(The second part of my headcanon is that Ardbert's sixth companion-- the one from the ShB role quests-- and Urianger are shards of the same original soul, but she somehow activated her Echo.)
