This lichen was visible from afar. So much beauty to be found in our spring Vermont forest. And there's no up charge in the price due to trump tariffs.

One of my favorite places, just over 6/10 of a mile walk through the woods to the 8 acre meadow. I find solace here on the best days & in the darkest of times.

Turmoil in the sky above reflects condition of the state of affairs in our nation at this time. Still hope remains in my soul. 💛

Good morning from Vermont.
Politics messing with my head, so some calming pix instead.

Today, it's frigid outdoors so I offer a photo from a warmer time of year.

Don't they want to return to the good old days...

5 to 9 miles each day. Even in northern Vermont, in winter, after dark.
Last night I illuminated my path from earlier in the day with a flashlight.
The snow was soft and deep and provided for a strenuous cardio workout.

Finally, on Saturday there was a blue sky day here in northern Vermont. In the distance is Mount Mansfield, Vermont's highest peak. Photo taken from Williston, Vermont.

Had a nice walk in the woods Friday evening. I make a 2.4mi trek daily on this "quick" route.

Happy Saturday from northern Vermont.
It was a wee bit too cold to take off my gloves for photography on this mornings walk. In lieu here's a photo of the 8-acre meadow from Friday evening.

Very happy to live in a blue state where I can literally walk from my home and discover miles and miles of trails and acres upon acres of accessible land for daily hikes.
Photos from Wednesday, 5 February, 15°F.

About to head outdoors for a sunny day hike even though it's 15°F.
After the winds died down last evening I went out and walked the periphery of the 8-acre meadow and ventured into the forest. This photo highlights trail conditions; note that windblown snow filled in my footprints from the morning

The ancient maple "sentinel" tree at the terminus of this forest/farm trail is one of my favorites. In a way it's a best friend with whom through the seasons over the past 40 years I have laughed, cried, contemplated and sought solace.
8 Acre meadow, also subject of my posts, lies behind this tree.

Good morning from northern Vermont. Below 0°F here. It's a wee bit too cold for me to head out this morning, so here's a couple photos from my hike yesterday when it was a balmy 16°F.
