The crown princess colored in. One leg up on an invisible box or step her back turned to us as she looks over her shoulder icy pale blond hair down to her ankle. She’s serving looks. Her skin is a dark and deep coco with no milk. Pure beauty. Her heels are a cute Barbie pink because she’s a Barbie girl in the world. With a matching pink clutch and cropped jacket. The heels are a clear stacked design a triangle into a circle. Her mini dress is pure white. A close up of the princess colored face. Come see her pretty pink shimmering eye makeup and highlight. I did not color the other pose as I wanted to be able to see her lines and face for reference. Enough about the art let’s talk lore! The crown princess is from an alternate universe called Terra! Magic exists in this world. It was important to me for this reason to make her what? Dark skinned. To make her a princess. Now I could have given her black hair for the setting it would fit more. But we are talking fantasy. And in fantasy it’s not so rare to have wild hair colors. Just so we all know… this combo does exist out there. I’m sure of it but I love this look for fantasy. I kept one of her eyes yellow and the other black. I want to subtly push the fantasy vibe even in the small details. Her empire is in the south and hotter planes of Terra. How else would she be this dark? Hello? It’s very hot year round so she can wear outfits like this often year rounds. Her empire is highly advance and focuses on magic technology and medicine. A lot of people come to study there. In th same time frame there is the holy empire which is much less developed I’ll draw them next. But gosh ugh I made my black Barbie. When I was a kid I had several that looked similar to her and I adored playing with those slender dolls!

Work in progress in gray scale before color. A man is an empty room leans up on one arm. It seems he has been sleeping and looks to the viewer who has spent the night with him. He wears tattered shirt and jeans that have been patched with knee high combat boots. He wears several protective talismans around his neck and a bracket wrapped around his wrist with an evil eye design. Three claw marks run down his chisled face going over his eye and nose. His hair is messy from sleep. 💤 Close up of the tailsmens and the objects face. The man has a crescent moon, a cross, and evil eye, and the Christian fish symbol. Wrapped several times around his wrist and hand is beads with an evil eye design. Why so many talisman? The concept is a werewolf on the run. It’s why his clothes are torn and he has so many talismans to keep the wolf at bay! Close up on the outfit because I worked hard on it damnit. The figure was taken from a female model. I like the contrast of drawing a male in a female pose. He has one hand on his hip and the other lifting him up. A knee bent in to pop his hip up. This is a pose that a woman would normally do. I like the contrast and it adds some weakness to a character that has obvious masculine energy. He had a chisled jaw and defined muscles. He has a very macho face scar yet seems very vulnerable in this moment. As if it’s the night after or before a full moon and he’s waiting for the transformation to take over. Ink layer of the artwork. I have some grass blades drawn because originally I thought I wanted to do this outside. I suck at backgrounds and when browsing Etsy found some background brushes. To live in the age of digital media. Thank you lord. One day I’ll learn to draw backgrounds but for now I’m going to use what our good lord created with the money I got from capitalism. I see online some people think this to be cheating. I find that insane and asinine. I have a bachelor’s in illustration. You know what I was taught? Use references and even what is available. Manga artist do it too. Why do you think the horses look so weird and the tea cups are as big as soup bowls? Now if someone is walking around claiming it’s all their own work sure. I understand but tracing and use of premade backgrounds is established practices. Now, if you let it weaken your skill and can’t make art without it that would be different. Let me get off my soap box. Listen my dear friends buy background brushes. Study them. Learn how to draw those pretty backgrounds through practice.

Crown Princess Phaedra Alicia is a fashionable and trend setting lady. You may never find her in the same looks twice. The first back pose the princess wears boots with a unique stacked heel design. A circle into a triangle a mini dress with an interesting cropped sailor style sleeveless jacket. Her hair is long and straight and she looks over her shoulder at the viewer. Her right hand holding her clutch. The face in the middle is to understand the princess lines and has half corn rolls into two big braids. The pose on the shows off her S line. She is tall, long legged and thin. Her figure is based on runway models. Her hair is in twists pulled into a huge bun. She wears and off the shoulder top with puff selves and a Jean mini skirt. She wears tall sneakers wedges with ribbons that go up to her mid thighs. The white mark of her magic is an all seeing eye on her forward and overlapping circles and a closed eye on her neck. First attempted redesign of Crown Princess Phaedra Alicia. She looked to alien and too unfriendly to draw. I wanted to like drawing her and so went with the first redesign of a lady that was more modern. A more modern fantasy world. If the world has historical dress it has to be based in factual places. I couldn’t find what I wanted and I felt that the world Crown Princess Phaedra Alicia is from is more modern. Head magician Lyra is a curvy woman. Why not make the princess different? So now she’s model chic and slender with an S line. I draw a lot of curvy woman but that’s not the only body shape in the world. To her left is her muscled mommy body guard and night. And her right is her petite Secetary and lady in waiting. Old design of Crown Princess Phaedra Alicia praying not finished Art. I was doing a lineless style of digital art and omg that style sucks and takes forever to do. Is it pretty? Sure. But your stuck painting for days to define stuff. Gross. In this design her magic mark is red. I decided going forward to make the royal family white marks instead because most of the other characters have red. Except other worlders and other kingdoms in Polemic empire magic is painted on people with symbols by “god” I.e the church follows the magic signature and paints it on children who have a magic awakening. The royal family who are gods favorite are born with the mark as people who can always use their powers. I know unfair! If someone has a white symbol, an open seeing eye it’s a royal family member. The princess also has a second mark on her neck. The circles represent her gravity power and the second eye is because she’s a devoted believer despite her serious no nonsense side.
