Life is too short to eat bad food. Former geek who gave it all up for regenerative farming and weaving. Someone has to save the planet.

When I had a farm with lots of road frontage and bordering residential neighbors, every year someone would call animal control because the Pyrenees were left outside in the cold. Now they can roll around on the ice in peace.

I tried. I tried so hard to once tell this to someone who was obviously hurting. Instead I got put on a shelf. #dailywisdom

I was not going to let the regrets persist so I took a risk. When things don’t turn out as hoped, it’s a sign.

The first snow day of the season around the farm. This is Blizzard’s first winter and she is loving the white stuff.

Scouring wool for natural dyeing. This year’s colors will be black walnut, goldenrod, and lobster mushrooms— essentially browns, yellows, and lavender.

The colors of the farm’s fields and woodlot are changing to remind me the season of dormancy is almost here.

This morning‘s meditation was on my failures, both in the past and the most recent. Sometimes it takes years for me to realize that they were the best thing that ever happened to me.

As a farmer, I try to conduct my business as well as live my life with individual to individual interactions. Most often I hit the target, but at other times the arrow flies over the back stop. Either way, I am at peace in knowing the efforts I have put forth come from the heart. #noregrets

I am walking a thin line between cougar and cat lady. There must be an invisible sign at the end of the driveway to the farm that says single woman lives here. Loves cats.

What a lovely morning for a long walk around the farm. All of the sheep were down in the shade of the run, except for Purl and her two ewe lambs from this year. The buzzards, bald eagles, and owls like to perch on the big snag, but it was empty this morning.
