Looking back through the photos I took in the Louvre in May 2024 and realizing I took a picture of most of the jewelry pieces stolen in the heist. Everything in Apollo's Gallery was stunning. I hope they're found. #louvre #photography #pixelography #jewels #museum

One year after Helene, an afternoon of rain, followed by a hint of a sunset on the mountain side. It's certainly a better ending to the day than last year. #wnc #mountains #sunset #pixelography

These two photos were taken in October of 2024. We're still here. So is that giant ass tree in the yard. #hurricanehelene #wnc #mountainstrong

A year later and there are still portions of Western North Carolina that are struggling with the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. There were mountains of downed trees, ruined home interiors, pieces of people's lives piled on the side of roads for months. It was haunting. #wnc #hurricanehelene

Water piled up underground causing the ground to swell, it cascaded down the yard, flooding my basement with over a foot of water. Across the road the stream overflowed through the power substation.

I watched from my bedroom window as a tree, easily a hundred feet tall, caught its last gust of wind from Helene and fell onto my sister's house next door.

One year ago today Hurricane Helene ravaged Western North Carolina. I woke up experiencing a drenching rain and wind, but never imagined it would get worse as the morning progressed.

Utah Beach, located on the Cotentin Peninsula, was the westernmost of the D-Day beaches. The U.S. Army's 4th Infantry Division led the main assault. The experience of getting to visit and walk on all five beaches was phenomenal. #photography #pixelography #dday #wwii #utahbeach #normandy #france

Omaha Beach. The landing location of the U.S. 1st and 29th Infantry Divisions along with Army Rangers from Pointe du Hoc. The width of the beach is indescribable. Thousands of brave men ran, crawled, fought, and died on this sand. #photography #pixelography #omahabeach #dday #wwii #france

Gold Beach, the commune of Arromanches, and remnants of the Mulberry harbours. Two harbours were constructed in secrecy by the British, towed across the English Channel and placed at Gold and Omaha Beaches. Amazing engineering. #photography #pixelography #dday #wwii #arromanches #goldbeach #france
