How language changes over time. Came across this gem in Agatha Christie's 'A Murder is Announced'. "‘Ye gods and little fishes,’ said Sir Henry, ‘can it be? George, it’s my own particular, one and only, four-starred pussy. The super pussy of all old pussies.'" He's talking about Miss Marple.

The most sci-fi of flowers, Passiflora incarnata (purple passionflower). Native in the US from Pennsylvania south down to Florida and west to Texas. 🌱

Cat Laine. Ab aqua libertas. 2023

It's a bright sunny day. Air quality is reasonably good. Time for this indoor cat to go outside for a swim.

"Know Thyself" (2022) from my ongoing Chromophilia self-portrait series.

I took this around the time I was rereading "Come As You Are" by Emily Nagoski shocked at how many pussy-powered people don't look at themselves down there now and again.

Considers joining a moth ball as an excuse to find this creature, the spun glass caterpillar (Isochaetes beutenmuelleri). It feeds on swamp oaks and I know where to find some near me. Look, but don't touch though. The sting from its prickles is said to be excruciating. Photo by Igor-Siwanowicz.

Do I want to know the spiders in my house?

I kind of do.

Do I really though?

What in the anime, Tetsuo?! TIL: There is a Starburst colored moth native to East Coast of N. America called the rosy maple moth (Dryocampa rubicunda). Its preferred hosts are maple trees (Acer.) Photo (CC-BY-SA 3.0) by Wikipedia user: PiccoloNamek.

Did ‘Face/Off’ start the movie convention of families always having a specific catch phrase or gesture that immediately reveals their true identity? https://youtu.be/0eH9vh_lvb4

Prompt: Fave album + you.

Had to go way back to when I listened to full albums on a regularly basis. This one still transports me. Me (right) and a friend at prom at the age when I loved it most.

Show me four of the movies you would grab and talk about if you visited the Criterion Closet 📽️

Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down!
After Life
Stalker
Walkabout

Only 50% problematic faves. (Too obvious to be listed, 'In the mood for Love'. Existential romantic sigh.)

Just finished reading “Detransition, Baby” by Torrey Peters. Did I like it? Yes. Did a chapter or two set off a full fledged fight or flight response? Also, yes.

I haven’t posted flowers in a few days so here is the flower of the Virginia strawberry, a.k.a. wild strawberry (Fragaria virginiana), seen near Almont, Colorado. Your typical store-bought strawberries (F. x ananassa) are a hybrid of this species and F. chiloensis.
