I feel like Homestuck always needed you to have a high tolerance for ambiguity in order to enjoy it, or understand it… or whatever prize you get for suffering it.
So I’m not mad that the pilot didn’t really try to curtail that aspect for new audiences.
I think it holds true to the original!

I’ve gained so many levels in swallowing pills this month….
Like listen— you need to understand, it’s a whole entire miracle every time I’m able to take a pill.
Teenage me fought through wars for this ability. My body did NOT like it. Rejected!!
Yet I took two pills at a time yesterday!! 😂

So the good news is… I’m not in horrifying completely disabling amounts of pain anymore!!
But only because the drugs are working and not because the what is probably a herniated disc is doing any better. 🥲

Honestly, the best way to make an artist’s day is by being very specific about what you like about a piece. Geek out a lil. Gush over how they use line, color, texture. Every mark is layed down by the artist, so if you can connect with those little moments, it helps the artist feel seen.
