That makes no sense. Why does it matter why you have empathy for the workers? I've never shopped at a Starbucks (not a fan of the very-bitter-to-balance-heavy-sugar flavors), but I still support any union action. But no one asked me why I reposted it - they just (as you did) expressed solidarity.
