Right now my diagnosis of Parkinson's is kicking my ass so hard that I don't even have time to think about my diagnosis of Autism. I received the diagnosis' only 3 months apart. I would be much better at this job if I were only Autistic.

Neurotypical mental health professionals are absolutely horseshit and garbage when it comes to dealing with autistic individuals and I will die on that hill. They have no business treating us. As a matter of fact they have absolutely failed us.

No idea how to get my sister to understand that, yes - I've always been autistic but most of my communication problems result from autistic burnout.

Diagnosed as Autistic in April of 2024. Then diagnosed as suffering from Parkinson's disease just a few months later. 2024 can go fuck itself. Too much to get my brain around. Now my eyes are also bad. Glaucoma they say. What more can they really say?

I haven't had time recently to think about Autism. Sure - it was difficult to always be masked - but not as difficult as learning to live with Parkinson's.

In the past year I've gotten an ASD diagnosis and then 2 months later I got a Parkinson's diagnosis. I'm struggling to keep my job due to vision issues. Any advice would be appreciated.

Very late autism diagnosis. April was my month. 56 years old at the time. Then just a few months later "why does my arm shake?" Parkinson's. It's been a tough year.

Going to Rock Steady Boxing in the morning for an assessment. I can't decide whether or not to tell them I'm Autistic. Also can't decide whether to show appropriate outrage when they inevitably respond stupidly with something like "We're all a little Autistic, right?"

Earliest memory of masking? Well, you would need to know it as masking, right? I mean, it's not THAT unusual for Autistics to have no idea who they really are because they've been masking for so long.

So my therapist thinks that Asperger's (which is not even a thing) is somehow separate from and different from Autism. Thinks that symptoms of Autism don't apply to Asperger's and vice versa.
