The bottom of this rabbit hole is that my brother owns alpaca he has to shear every year and no idea what to do with the fiber, so, with very little effort on his part and very much effort on my part, he could have an alpaca Christmas scarf in a decade (if we haven't disowned each other by then)

Passing them on is a great idea! I've also been trying to figure out what I would DO with the yarn once I've spun it. I'm not a knitter or crocheter—I do embroidery, and there are some cool projects which incorporate yarn, which I might try out.
