Did you know there are scenes from The Rocketeer framed in Atlantic Dance Hall on the Boardwalk? I certainly didn’t! I only knew about the rocket in Hollywood Studios, but what a fun additional easter egg to add in some theming!

Been so inactive but I can explain. I moved two weeks ago, then randomly collapsed and broke my jaw on Sunday!

I also just finished the series!! I love how rich the history of Atlantic City is. Seeing the conditions of the Boardwalk now makes me so nostalgic for the version HBO recreated. Here are some nods to the past I saw last month for everyone! Peep any familiar names and sights?
Vintage facades of apartments on the Atlantic City Boardwalk. Plaque in front of the Ritz Condominium, formerly the Ritz Carlton Hotel, Atlantic City. Reads: “Former Ritz Carlton Hotel opened during the ‘Roaring Twenties’ on June 24, 1921 as one of Atlantic City’s Grand Hotels. Designed by the architectural firm of Warren and Wetmore and constructed at a cost of 36 million. During WW2 the Ritz Carlton Hotel served the US Armed Forces as an integral part of Camp Boardwalk. Presidential Guests included Calvin Coolidge, Warren G Harding, and Herbert Hoover. Other famous gas included Al Capone, Enoch ‘Nucky’ Johnson, Lucky Luciano, Lawrence Tibbett, Sophie Tucker, and NY Mayor Jimmy Walker. The Ritz Carlton Hotel converted to the Ritz condominium in November 1982.” Atlantic City — Former James’ Salt Water Taffy storefront with a decaying facade and window sign reading: “Thank You! For a hundred and three years of business at this location. Your can still get our great products at Tropicana, Ballys, Hard Rock Casino & Tennessee Ave. Stores. Still manufactured here in Atlantic City. It's been a Great Journey! Thank you for your patronage. James Salt Water Taffy” A psychic shop with a “Boardwalk Empire” sign above — Atlantic City. Inside the shop, seen through the glass doors is a silver table and matching chairs with red satin upholstery. A familiar setup to a shop Nucky Thompson visits in HBO’s Boardwalk Empire.
