This manager is the opposite of creative. If he was the captain of a boat that sprung a leak he would tell you to just keep sailing forward. And if you questioned him he would ask what other direction do you think ships are supposed to sail in.

Not concerned about the talent but they are managed like a little league time where if you moved Arraez down the lineup it would break everyone’s heart. I just don’t see this team beating 3-4 playoff teams with the way they ignore data and performance on the field.

At one point Acee asked “Do you really want to be experimenting with lineups in September?” The answer is fucking hell yes. You’re basically in the playoffs and now is the time to find your best team. Sad to see pretty talented current roster managed this way.

If you want your head to explode listen to the Hot lava podcast where they talk about Arraez getting moved down the lineup has to be cleared with the clubhouse veterans. Literally feels like under Preller these guys have to be run like the emotions of a little league team.

This is a team that wins based on talent against inferior teams, and loses based on a complete lack of approach to using modern baseball data against equally talented teams.

Think it’s pretty clear at this point Shildt is a gut feel manager and I can see why he was fired in St. Louis. Just no sense of data analysis and a very poor in game manager. Hope he’s not the road block to a title

Crazy thing about that series is that Dodgers didn't even play that well and swept us. Ohtani hasnt homered against us this season and we have 2 wins. Just not in the same class at the moment.
