Gay, Bear, Fabulous, Leftist

The Beatitudes gave me radical attitudes
I've grown to detest the "Vote Blue no Matter Who" folks. For one, they don't mean it - they attack anyone who wants actual, helpful change because they benefit from the corporatist status quo. Two, they ignore how when Dems actually run on leftist ideas (Obama in 08), there is energy and support.

Can we handle the distress of acknowledging our failures (and our nation's failures) or is that too uncomfortable for us?

Can we not regulate ourselves when our emotions become strong?

The repentance / forgiveness cycle makes room for our emotions to be regulated and our distress to be tolerable.

Repentance ultimately acknowledges our failure *and* the mercy of God. We turn, we grow, we fall, we fail, we turn and get up again.

If your self-esteem can't handle that, you will reject the need for repentance.

If you don't think repentance is necessary as a way of life, then you won't do it.

For evangelicals, it's probably because repentance as an ongoing act is seen as unnecessary. No salvation is jeopardized once the magic words are said and faith is once had; commit yourself to Jesus and you'll never have to say you're sorry, to God or anyone. People should apologize to you instead.

For mainline Protestants and Catholics, perhaps it is an expression of the 1960s-70s movement away from the perceived guilt obsession of their forebears to a self-esteem movement.
April 19, 2025 at 6:49 PM
Instead of being able to say "I failed", the self-esteem needs take precedence. I have to double-down that I was right. Others must have been wrong. It was a conspiracy.

So remember, never trust the police's account. They don't care about law, truth, or justice.

They care about the "thin blue line." They care about their power.

They claim otherwise, but the second their privilege is threatened, what do they do? What is it that they really will protect? Not us.
April 9, 2025 at 10:18 PM
They won't stand up for the Constitution. They won't protect the law.

The law is useless unless it is protected and upheld.

Where are the cops?

They're fine with breaking the law, if they get to do it. If the people that stroke their fragile egos break the law, no consequences.
April 9, 2025 at 10:16 PM
They won't protect kids. They wom't protect vulnerable adults. They won't protect the LAW. The only thing they protect is their own power.

They don't de-escalate. They train for it, but don't use it. They want the money to go to a training conference, get drunk, and get another Punisher tattoo.

Just like folks who have an obsession for the Second Amendment, cops have a boner for the use of force. Being able to command a person, to treat a "civilian" (cops are also "civilians" since they aren't active military) like shit just to flex their power. They don't care if anyone is safe.

Self-sufficient? Governor Chicken Shittle, you are an embarrassment.

Try thinking long and hard about your vow in the Baptismal Covenant to "respect the dignity of every human being" at the Easter Vigil this year.

Jesus sees your bullshit.

Sen Chucky "Out of Date and Out of Touch" Schumer, like the rest of the Democratic leadership, need to go.

We need real ideas for building a better America, not just floating and bloating until the next fundraising cycle.

Those Whigs need to be snatched and tossed in the cockroach-filled dumpster behind a Carls Jr.
March 20, 2025 at 12:14 AM
Democratic party leadership is currently the definition of "failing upward." They've failed the American people, they're Reagan Republicans at heart, and they have no plan other than "do nothing and hope for the best."

National Dems are useful only for impeding progress and abetting Republicans.

1. Idaho takes it over, immediately underfunds it
2. Idaho sells it to most Republican developer, gives every Idahoan a nickel in a grocery tax credit as a reward
3. Private developer makes it into private resort for wealthy
4. Idahoans wonder where tourists and birds have gone, blame Democrats

Sure as hell won't be led by any national Democrats.

Carville says roll over. Schumer says he's impotent to do anything.
Pelosi already made her millions.
Fetterman is the new Manchin.
Jeffries has zero idea.

It's in our communities we will push for change, and starve the DNC of donations.
