I like to think I'm not stupid, but this took me quite some time to figure out and not just ascribe it to some annoying initial bugs. I thought the game was broken rather than this silly. Not sure which would be better

The conflation between "club" salaries and the salary for centrally contracted players who get no extra for playing for Ireland is also unhelpful. The system just doesn't lend itself to comparison really.

I think this is fair, but I also think the one standing in the way of it happening is very much not Ukraine. Russia/Putin don't seem to have shown any signs of backing down from their maximalist goals at all.
