Today felt like the old fashioned right side bias games abit, but maybe its was just because given the option why wouldnt you just do everything to give Saka the ball on form like that.

@lgambrose.bsky.social pointed out how well he was dropping between the lines in his piece. I wonder if it's a blueprint for how our LW can play this season in certain games. Eze would be great at doing the same job Trossard did as Lewis also pointed out.

There's a little irishman who is in there somewhere who almost certainly is.

Mosquera on the ball, looked a bit lost at times but then also played some nice passes.

Assuming Saliba gets a new contract who leaves Arsenal first, Saliba or Arteta? #arsecastextra

Look at the defense move like cockroaches when the light goes on from two touches. That's Saka level gravity on the left at last.

You should definitely do your own thing. Edu's BBQ made perfect sense at the time but you have your own reputation now.

Also please give us something over the break if you can, I need my fix.

As ever I want 10,000+ words on this and how it might all fit together.
August 20, 2025 at 9:06 PM
Yeah you are right. I think the majority of the value will be in unlocking overmatched defences he just has so much more outside of the box than what we have and the LW in those has been a dead spot. I wonder if there are any answers in his England minutes, I haven't seen anyone do that piece.
August 20, 2025 at 8:41 PM
I've always looked at what Eze can do and think his qualities just can't fail to offer something in the positions our LW find themselves in. Especially in the games where the current LW options offer the least. I just can't see how it doesn't work (whether it's 60m worth of work is another thing).
August 20, 2025 at 8:14 PM
We did that dual 10 things at one point last year (and maybe before?), maybe there's something in that.
August 20, 2025 at 7:09 PM
There's an excellent @poorlydrawnarsenal.com sketch in this of all the shit that you thought could have been happening running through your head.
August 20, 2025 at 7:02 PM
This is my trauma informed fandom speaking but he'll be back around the same time as he was last season was my reading.

Unless this has prompted a rethink about Havertz' long term future you'd think the only thing we can do is a versatile forward type. Jesus with working legs would be perfect. I guess you could maybe solidify the Gyokeres signing with a like for like backup but that doesn't feel very Arteta to me.
August 20, 2025 at 2:16 PM
It's probably easier to find a versatile forward (which is surely the only profile we can sign from here) in Gyokeres' profile than Havertz's. The tactical switch will move faster than Arteta wanted now, almost certainly. But also fuck your logic and delusional optimism, let me feel my feelings.

I wonder where Saka and Rice's performances stats wise stack up in this game compared to their worst historical ones. To my eye they were absolutely some of the worst I can remember. We've been bad (albeit better than Sunday) without them being so bad as part of it, it was very odd.
August 18, 2025 at 7:00 PM
That must have been one of Saka's lowest touch performances in the last 3 years surely?
August 17, 2025 at 5:41 PM
Win % for these 3 would be interesting to see.
August 15, 2025 at 1:17 PM
I'd be astonished if a MLS doesn't start unless he's carrying something. I also think predicting White/Timber will be a fools errand this season. Predicted 11s should just be White/Timber rather than trying.

Two weeks off, and the desk is worse? Is this on purpose, John? You will rue this day Oliver, rue!
July 28, 2025 at 5:07 PM
Excellent as always. Wonder if you have any thoughts in the context of Arteta's always fixing last year's problem. The LW might be something but depth for Saka feels like a big part of the story. It's expensive for it but Arteta spends money when he's traumatized and last year was the worst yet imo.

Hopefully he doesn't make the leap and then die off like Heaven did.

How do I unsubscribe from these facts?

I aim to please with accuracy of obscure japanese concepts. I also don't know what economic sudoku would be like but I don't want to see that either.

The only decent take I've seen slightly against it is that it should be accompanied by some sort of enhanced civic education. Maybe if we'd more of that we wouldn't have commited economic seppuku in 2016.
