I was glad to learn she had a partner, because it means the child still at least has one person to help her through this tragedy. Not sure your point.

The witness chair is where that process starts. It's called due process, and as far as I know they still use it for white people.

I think he is surrounded by doctors. This was an announcement about a new treatment for chronic disease. I know there's irony in there, but I don't much feel like exploiting for laughs.

No there there.

He looks absent, as if he is not fully cognizant of what is going on.

What I see is a man who can't bear to watch something that is his greatest fear right now: exactly what is happening to the man on the floor. While people are rushing to help, he stands up and turns away. I don't know what is in his mind, but his eyes and his rigid stance suggest dread.

One of my brothers had a low number. He didn't die there, but it killed him slowly, his life a mess.

Probably not "credit cards", but "purchase orders". There is no credit involved, rather the understanding that the money will be paid out of existing funds. This allows needed items to be shipped or delivered immediately. Saves money, time, and would you believe it: lives.

Nina, look up the word and think about what it means. Then ask why we unthinkingly use words linked to women as insults to men. I doubt you meant it that way, but I am astounded at how often this has been happening. We are adopting demeaning male language as our own. That's sad.

We have never owned this fact, and in fact, have looked at it as something removed from us. We have failed to acknowledge the feelings of marginalization and anger and failed to create meaningful programs to address before it gets to this point. Other nations have done it. But not us.

US population isn't any more devolvedthan it has ever been. Most people are peaceable, but look back in our history and you'll find that mass killing has always been part of our culture, and in fact, seen as inevitable in some places. Just different targets and different means.
