Today was Jimmy's state funeral here in DC.
He is already in route back to Georgia on Air Force One with the call sign Special Air Mission 39.
He will be buried next to his precious Rosalynn.
"Go rest high on that mountain, for your work on earth is done."

Yesterday, January 7th 2004, a caisson took Jimmy down Pennsylvania Ave for the last time.

He is now lying in state at the Capital.

Jimmy will be flown on 'Air Force One' from Dobbins Air Reserve Base to Joint Base Andrews, Maryland around 11:30am this morning.

The call sign will be Special Air Mission 39.

The Morehouse College Glee Club honored Jimmy by singing the Navy Hymn "Eternal Father, Strong to Save" as he was brought into the Carter Center. I'm not crying, you're crying.

Jimmy left Plains GA today on his way to Atlanta. The National Park Service rang the bell 39 times as the motorcade passed the farm where he grew up.
