Would comparing the proposal by Israel’s Defence Minister Katz plans to confine Gazans to a camp from which they would not be allowed to leave to the Warsaw ghetto be a criminal act if Jillian Segal's recommendations are adopted?

It's time to bring some sanity to the AUKUS submarine deal and tell rhe US we won't be paying any more for the nuclear subs unless we are guaranteed delivery.

I would like to see someone in the media ask Trump why he blew up the nuclear agreement negotiated by Obama and ask why should Iran now trust the US.

Article by Sam Roggaveen included

"At the centre of Australia’s defence strategy now stands a program that only makes complete sense if Australia is intent on using its submarines as an adjunct to the US Pacific Fleet, and thus in a manner that subordinates Australia to US foreign policy goals."

We don't need to spend more on Defence. We need to terminate AUKUS and use the Defence Budget in conventional subs, drones, missiles etc to defend Australia.

I'm not keen about the idea of Iran having a nuclear bomb, but what right does Israel and the US, both of which have nuclear bombs, to tell Iran they can't have the bomb?

Even for Trump, the hypocrisy of him declaring Gaza a demolition site, when American bombs were responsible, is astounding.

Very depressing that Penny Wong is scurrying to get American support for AUKUS when the nature of the Trump regime is that we
should be looking at better options than a dangerous America.

Well done Peter Vahgese for recommending the closure of the Washington office of the Australian Strategic Policy Unit, and requiring ASPI to actually tender for ongoing funding. ASPI's main contribution to the policy debate has been to foster hatred of China.

If banning flags and symbols of terrorist organisations are going to be introduced, I assume the Israeli flag, representing State terrorism, will be at the top of the list.

The only possible rationale for Dutton's nuclear fantasy is to prepare Australia for nuclear bombs.
December 14, 2024 at 8:50 PM
Under Dutton's nuclear fantasy you will have your solar cells turned off to fit in the "always on" nuclear generators and have to pay the grid price.

Does anybody fancy living close to a nuclear power plant in the event of a terrorist attack or worse.
December 13, 2024 at 5:32 AM
Anybody seen Ted O'Brien and Scott Morrison in the same room?
December 13, 2024 at 5:20 AM
We are already seeing the false "balance" in reporting Dutton's nuclear fantasy evident in the global heating crisis. Nuclear doesn't add up in Australia and honest reporting would make this clear.

Torres: There’s a Turkish proverb that says, “If a clown goes into a palace, the clown does not become a king; the palace becomes a circus.” We’re witnessing the transformation of the American presidency into a circus, with Tulsi Gabbard as the potential DNI and Matt Gaetz as the potential AG.
