That's not entirely correct though. The history of Jewish maltreatment & oppression throughout the Ottoman Empire and in the states that followed its dissolution - eg Yemen, Turkey etc BEFORE the founding of Israel is well established in primary sources and personal accounts - eg my own family...

I wouldn't dare challenge your experience. Just to reinforce though, there *are* (quite a few!) secular soft-Zionist Jews that don't think that way and don't determine their vote based on Israel. That said, I would never vote for an anti-semite - regardless of their politics.

Tim, I think that's a generalisation too far - esp when it comes to liberal soft-Zio secular Jews (like me). The Israel issue just isn't *that* important to many of us that we would determine our vote primarily on that issue. I think you may be overreading that polling stat but more NYC data needed.

Oh boy, that's right up your alley!! 😁

Another take is that some Zionist Jews decided to vote for Mamdani's platform rather than vote for Cuomo. This is only a Mayoral election after all! In other words, perhaps for a minority of Zionist Jews, the "Israel thing" isn't the prime determiner of their voting behaviour and perhaps never was.

Oh wow you are in it for the long haul!!! Would you consider ... (gulp!) ... "The Red Book"?

"Man and his Symbols" "Memories, Dreams, Reflections" - those would be my pick for digestibility :)

If you want speculation... Totally out on a limb here but I wonder if the assassination was a completely misguided demonstration of love to the onetime housemate ex (who may or may not be trans) who was very opposed to Charlie Kirk and like the assassin is an ultra online gamer.

Have you seen this research Dr B? What do you make of it? e61.in/new-data-sho... Could it be that Oz Gen Z males are more conservative but their political choices are yet to catch up or has Albo done better at capturing their trust?

To be fair to Connolly as a human being, he was apparently cancer free with a good prognosis when he was picked as the ranking member. The very bad news only came a few weeks ago. Agree with your broader point about the need for the Dems to be much more dynamic and energetic.

I was in Germany last week in the East. Lots of graffiti on the Teslas. I was quite shocked. Musk's businesses are finished here. Zero love for him.

Absolutely! Face to face human interaction matters so much in Medicine!!!

Yes!!!! To add to that, I would say perhaps this distinct difference is *most* noticeable in the Tibetan-influenced sphere (incl Bhutan, Himachal Pradesh etc).

Exactly Dr B! 💯

These photo ops really do assume that the reader/viewer is lobotomised. "Look at me! I'm helping!" Real helpers eschew this crap.

Dr B, I am most surprised by how badly Pinocchio has performed in front of the cameras. He doesn't look in control at all. He would be better off going home and letting the bureaucrats do the briefing. Utterly dreadful.

They will do absolutely nothing. They will not take on advice from FNQ council who deal with extreme events. They will not take advice from overseas areas that have extreme weather events. They will pat themselves on the back, do some media interviews and then take some leave.
March 9, 2025 at 6:58 AM
It's all so performative trying to mask that they panicked too early then weren't prepared for the later arrival of the storm. The garbage trucks and buses was all about being seen to be doing something. They have two modes - shut everything down panic and she'll be right mate. Infuriating.

He's not the sharpest and he has a real glass jaw for criticism. Public transport should have run up to today but instead he stops them 4 days beforehand when nothing was really happening but restarts them today. I will say it again, if we had a decent media here, he would be scorched alive!
March 9, 2025 at 6:09 AM
Infuriatingly stupid. Businesses (and private individuals) need start suing the government for this bullshit.
March 9, 2025 at 5:26 AM
Yes I agree with that. Pinocchio is too low energy for this stuff.
March 8, 2025 at 8:24 AM
No - especially this lot. They really don't seem across it very well. I cannot believe the media isn't cutting Schrinner and asking him what he's done since 2022 every chance they get!
March 8, 2025 at 8:10 AM
If we had a decent media here they would be skewering him on this. It's political malpractice to give people the opposite advice at once!
March 8, 2025 at 7:43 AM
The whole modus operandi is either panic central or business as usual. Very annoying for those of us that just want clear, sober communications.
