Lifetime artist, with an embarrassing resume of side gigs, including a 20-year Coast Guard career, and more years in desktop publishing.
I usually work in watercolor, with landscapes as my usual subject. In the PNW now, but many years in AK, WI, IN, NC.
Last weekend, and my last night on location, I started this view of the Westport Lighthouse, intending to finish it up during the golden hour, got some done, but suffered an interruption by the camp host. Mostly PA. 12x16 on Canson CP mounted on board.

Parked it roadside for a workup of this lineup. The owner cruised out to see what I was up to, I told him free advertising for his collection, titled “I Know What I Got”

Here’s one from last summer. This view of Kessiso Rocks, Cape Flattery is down a steep trail. The last 3/4 mile is mostly steps. I was reminded of gold miners toiling up to Chilkoot Pass climbing back outta there with my plein air rig.

New to this feed, here’s my latest, an old oyster boat in Bay Center Wash. This is a studio study from a visit last week. Might go bigger, but a bunch of other images from that trip are clamoring for attention

So what’s next after 47 fires anybody involved in his indictment investigation? Fire the police who impeded that protest four years ago?

We have been treated to some phenomonal sunsets lately

Glad I started this. The Kalaloch Tree of Life has taken a beating by storms this winter, and it is, in every sense of the phrase, hanging in there. The last King Tide/storm combo rammed some big logs up in there that might be holding it up.
The cliff, the drift, and lower roots get darker.

So the right voted this (fill in the blank) in. They basically just want somebody to shake things up? Have I got that right? They don’t care about criminal records, bankruptcies, morals, truth/lies, goals, past performance.

Ok, so what’s the plan when they’ve had enough up-shaking?

Oh will you just look at this mess!! I must tidy that up immediately!
There.
Doesn’t that look so much better?

I’m a Plein Air Artist, Urban Sketcher and lifetime Landscape Artist. A move to the PNW from Reno has shifted my most frequent subject to marine scenes.
This, “Chum Run, Hoodsport” is a full sheet watercolor finished a few weeks ago from a quick sketch and a handfull of reference images
