I agree but not sure he'll be happy to play second fiddle behind Elanga or Gordon on the wings...certainly would give us rotation options though.

But how long do you wait? City trial has taken 3 years or so. In that time we should have played clever and agreed deals around FMV.

Trafford is fair enough, it's City's prerogative to re-sign him with the buyback...still suspect this news is leaked by Burnley to bring NUFC closer to the fee they want.

Agreed, of those players listed, several had very good reasons for joining the clubs they did:
Delap - from SW London
Pedro - already living in London

For the others, there are valid business/character reasons:
Mbuemo - Man Utd have overpaid by £20m
Ekitike - suspect character

Agreed, unlike other positions you don't/shouldn't need to trade your keeper every few years, it's more of a 8-10yr commitment in my opinion.

And it's likely Trafford will compete for No1 England spot very soon.

You do wonder how much commercial activity has been blocked or delayed behind the scenes due to fair market value evaluations...still painfully slow.

Where's the training kit sponsor? Could have had even a short term deal over past 3 years, instead we have nothing.

Same. Much rather Madrid come in for him than having to face him at Anfield for a(nother) drubbing.

We need a thread on Isak replacements 😭

Re-reading this excellent thread, how come Elanga didn't make it into the RW section?

Conceicao looked promising at the Euros. Only reservation is his strength in the PL... definitely has technical skills tho.

He was last man back, ball dropped from a height with 2-3 Arsenal players on him. Calmly took it down, won the foul...which we scored our goal from?

Not just chemistry with Gordon but Joelinton as well. Plenty of nice 1-2 triangles going on on that left hand side.

I can only presume they know something we don't with regards to City case...and they're biding their time to announce more deals.
December 14, 2024 at 2:26 PM
The lack of movement on new commercial deals is problematic though. If FMV and APT rules aren't changing, why aren't we striking deals with other partners?
December 14, 2024 at 10:18 AM
I'm sick of reading about PSR when we have owners with no financing issues. It's shambolic.

But if these rules aren't changing anytime soon and we're going to have to do it the hard (some would say organic) way, then we need to face reality and start trading players, even blue chip ones.
