On top of the decaying leaf litter and wood, isopods also need a source of calcium, protein, and vegetables. Fruit can also be given occasionally. Each species has its own dietary needs, so make sure to double check.

What type of enclosure?

Isopod enclosures don’t need to be fancy. You want to start with something that can retain humidity well, I use a plastic storage tub. Depending on what species you’re keeping, you may need to drill a few extra ventilation holes. Choose one with a locking lid as well.
