4/4 One more thing; election days have a true community feel. Search for “Democracy sausage” to reveal how Australians love to celebrate election day with a sausage in bread with the sale benefitting a local school or community group. It’s a thing!

In Australia, we have an independent Australian Electoral Commission who run elections, maintain electorate boundaries, can create and eliminate electorates based on population shifts, and go to great lengths to ensure everyone has their vote, even flying voting booths to remote communities.

2/3 How the USA has voting on a Tuesday, the states individually control the federal voting process, Gerrymandering is rife and there are so many ways to stop citizens from voting, it is astonishing how people can truly believe your country is a bastion of democratic freedom.

1/3 It isn’t lost on me how difficult it is for people to vote in other countries. Many have died trying to win the right to vote, and in the USA, there are so many barriers to exercise your right to your “democracy” which really isn’t democratic.

But did those people who know vote at the last election? 130,000 more over two states and Trump would’ve lost
