Used to love the Law, but look what happened. The Constitution used to be a cool document, but that was so 1960s.

Having been in and then dealt with law enforcement my entire career it is impossible for anyone, judge or lawyer, to not understand that law enforcement will take every inch of authority to turn into a mile of power. Kavanaugh knew this but didn’t realize it would be so televised.

Westlaw is now selling its platform on the proposition that "our AI only cites cases that are within our reported cases database." I laughed when the rep was so proud of that.

I would love to see a reporter do ICE training to document what instruction these people receive. At this point it seems the intent is to make each interaction as agressive as possible to facilitate self deportation. From so many examples that cruelty has to be mandated.

I remember being at lunch with a friend who got Foxified, came to lunch in a Rolls Royce. Announces “You know the most discriminated group in America is the white male.” I laughed and said, “we just can’t get away with with all the shit you used to.” Lost him, unfortunately this sells.

Am I wrong to think this is worse than a keeping schedule I but hardly enforced by the feds in deference to states? Current growers / shops are going to be subject to DEA /FDA regs and big Pharma and probably go away or go illegal. Wonder what the sentencing guidelines will be.

Not sure I agree, the threat of Cubans storming Gauntanmo requiring a bad guy to defend it was ludicrous, Berlin 1948 it was not, thought that it made the whole speech even more narcassistic and unsympathetic, his befuddled discovery that the law actually applied to him was the payoff.

Yes, town halls with her chosen panels and selected audience members, more "listen to me" than "we can't talk to each other".

More confused than trolled. Mussolini is as known for being dragged out of office and summarily executed by his own people as the trains on time thing. There are practically no trains in Florida so it would otherwise be lost on voters. Dumb all around, has a future in his party, though.

Not GJ, but I remember post OJ verdict, as a line prosecutor, started getting more acquittals with majority Black juries for a while.

When I was a federal law clerk, the duty judges did the swearing ceremonies; my judge let me give a speech to the newly sworn Citizens once. The room was full, you could feel the ebullience in the room. Have had a great career so far; one of my best days.

I was speaking with a lawyer on the Bar disciplinary committee, the Bar is overwhelmed with complaints from judges and lawyers about AI produced motions and pleadings. It can be disciplined under the current rules but the Bar is looking to make sanctions more specific and harsh.

Presented a number of cases to a GJ, state not fed, dont know if the rules are different about who can sit in. It seems very odd that Halligan couldnt scare up an AUSA who knew what they were doing to be there even if they werent going to present or sign.

Yes, every Silver response is "we are looking into it" avoidance. You would figure he would quickly deal with the Clippers thing b/c it can done in house and the league is the only faction that want caps and penal aprons; how soon before players want Khawi deals over cap arguments if not?
