Ah. Good to know that "lies" now come in "Fact Sheets" and "madness" is "common sense".
(I wondered where he had "found" that expression.)

In the end, the question pretty much is: "Would you rather be spied on by the U.S. or China?"

Honestly I'm excited for it. Wayyy too expensive that's for sure, but if it can free time out of my day for things I actually like doing, that's a win.

As Westerners, we often bring up China’s Great Firewall. However, if we endorse this ban and thereby establish a precedent, wouldn’t this constitute an instance of cognitive dissonance?

I agree that pragmatically, banning TikTok shouldn't hinder "freedom of speech" per se. But the web is supposed to be humanity's way of breaking free of barriers: language, geography, culture, background… The U.S. government would be setting a precedent for stricter control over the web.

I'm having mixed feelings about biomass. Plants require a lot of space to grow, space that should be used to feed *humans.* I'm not sure using the limited fertile land we have to feed our cars and cities is the most… ethical and efficient way to generate power.

I will always be fascinated at how much shit the U.S. and Chinese governments can give each other.

China is a dangerously locked-up information blackbox. Do we really want to send the same message, as a country that's supposed to represent "freedom"?

Imagine if somebody's grandma found out about this. 😂

As an EU citizen, maybe the EU needs to step down a bit and catch its breath, right.
