I will in time change my display name to the one on my passport (starts with Malcolm), but I think that the problem of unaccountability in social media is so damaging that I will persist with my slogan for now.
The sacrifice Ukraine has made defending their freedom against authoritarian tyrants will live on.

Those lives will be solemnly mourned in democracies around the world for the courage & dedication to the dignity of the human spirit.

The would-be authoritarians among us will be vilified by history.

By now US military would have pretty good idea how the Coalition of the willing will tip the balance in favour of Ukraine, so Trump and sycophants ramp up the propaganda.

But Trump always has lots of words, but not much by way
of strategic wisdom. He's boxed himself into a costly corner for US.

What twaddle from Trump.
Russia GDP PPP less than $8 Trillion & has lost nearly 1M casualties & 23,000 units of equipment.

Europe's GDP $29 t.

Germany, UK & France 15 t.
Spain, Turkey & Poland 6 t
Canada & Australia 4.5 t
Norway, Sweden & Finland 1.7 t

EU allies willing & preparing to support.

Trump isn't yet all-powerful in USA, but Putin is in Russia.
Understanding positive & negative conceptions of liberty is key to defending the democracy that made people in the Western world free & prosperous.
I hope this helps.

Yes EU will emerge from the transition to their NATO leadership stronger & more influential. But America will be diminished by that but not crippled. After Trump there will be a political reckoning that will see Congress return to pre-Gingrich norms of cross-isle reason.

Congress learns slowly.

Classic Trump revisionism... his military have advised him that the EU coalition of the willing are rapidly gearing up to be able to facilitate a Ukrainian victory, so he jumps in with a "Nobel winning 'Me Too' comment".

The man is a sleazebag that none but authoritarians trust one iota.

Europe would be mad to allow a surrender to Putin's expansionism.

However, the shafting Jeremy Corbyn is indeed a tragedy.

Mind you so is Tucker Carlson... a tragedy that is.

In 1934 Mosley's UK Nazi party had 0.1% of population as members. Now Farage's Reform has 0.3%.

The difference is the result of social media in which the fears of the least discriminating is exploited.

Nobody likes 'least discriminating' label, but consequences get noticed, just not causes.

On the surface the Trump administration seems to be lawless, fickle and authoritarian, on deeper examination it's much worse than that.

Press/media freedom is only sacred if they regard their integrity as sacred.

Allowing advertising merchants who attract revenue by the size of an audience attracted by false alarm and division subverts governments so should be dealt with as treason.

What an embarrassment to America he is.

Embarrassed Americans need to convince MAGA devotees that greatness isn't something truly great people claim for themselves. Neither are they compulsive liars or vindictive. Importantly, a President is duty-bound to $elflessly serve.

Guide them gently.

Whoever wins the puerile squabble in parliament doesn't counter the bizarre & hugely expensive bungling that nearly led to the scrapping of BOM's exemplar GUI.

Software doesn't wear out & if there were security issues they can be addressed without a complete re-write.

Tech contractors snowed BOM.
November 26, 2025 at 1:08 AM
United States will not be believed until after Nove 2028.

Europe and the coalition of the willing cannot wait until then to support Ukraine with boots on the ground, missiles in the air and ineluctable economic sanctions.

Those who would scrap rules-based order need to see what it's backed by.

Part of their posturing?

Is Europe posturing too? How about the world that thinks America is no longer a reliable ally?

Trump is so obviously unreliable as a military leader & has treated Ukraine shamefully.

Putin's patsy wears his heart on his sleeve, but there's liver & offal there too.
November 23, 2025 at 8:27 AM
Trump's affection for autocrats is indeed a challenge for the Western world & the US Congress sitting on its hands is the most egregious aspect of America in the social media age. However, Europe & the broader community of fair & deliberative nations will not abandon Ukraine.
